AT&T's fiber network to expand service in Nebraska

OMAHA, Neb. — AT&T has completed its purchase of substantially all of Lumen Technologies’ Mass Markets fiber business, including the Quantum Fiber and CenturyLink brands familiar to many customers in Omaha.
The acquisition expands AT&T’s fiber network to 32 states and adds more than one million new customers nationwide.
For Nebraska customers, AT&T says the deal will bring a major investment in local fiber infrastructure. The company plans to more than double its fiber internet build plans in the state this year compared to last year.
That expansion includes Omaha and other communities across Nebraska, with AT&T aiming to deliver faster and more reliable internet service to more homes and businesses.
AT&T says the merger will also provide greater value for local consumers and small businesses through secure, fast, and reliable bundled fiber and wireless services.
The expansion in Nebraska is part of AT&T’s broader commitment to reach 60 million fiber locations across the United States by 2030. The company says more details about the rollout will be shared in the coming weeks.
