Man found guilty in the murder of Fremont woman
DOUGLAS COUNTY - A Douglas County jury took less than an hour Tuesday to declare Jeremiah Connelly guilty of murder.
Our news partner KETV reports that the 40-year-old will spend life in prison for killing 22-year-old Jeanna Wilcoxen.
In the trial, Prosecutors laid out a timeline: Connelly admitted he followed the single mom to a park and forced her into his van.
Investigators said he sexually assaulted Wilcoxen, strangled her, and dumped her body in Fremont.
Connelly then drove around Nebraska and Iowa for hours, trying to get rid of evidence before setting his van on fire.
Connelly will be back in court in November to be sentenced.
