Another Big Give week in Norfolk raised over $200,000

NORFOLK, Neb. - The Philanthropy Council says it is proud after another Big Give week.
The Big Give in Norfolk raised over $230,000 for local charities in the area.
During the week of May 15-May 21 nearly 1,600 donations were brought in for 27 charities.
The Philanthropy Council of Northeast Nebraska says this year was the second time the event was a week long, leading to a better turnout than shorter years.
“By expanding the giving period, we’ve created more opportunities for organizations to share their missions and for the community to engage in a meaningful way.,” said Big Give committee chair Libby McKay, “I feel that it is invigorating to see how the community comes out to support its nonprofits, it’s one of the best examples of how every donation, no matter the size, can truly make an impact.”
In the past two years the Big Give has raised over $480,000.
