LINCOLN, NE — Evan Shepard drained a three-pointer as time expired and Ashland-Greenwood stunned Auburn 36-33 in the Class C-1 state title game.

The victory gives the Bluejays their first boys basketball state championship. The last-second effort was Shepard’s only made three of the game. It came on an assist from A-G star Cale Jacobsen, who drew the defense in with a dribble drive.

The defeat ends the Bulldogs’ streak of three-straight state championships.
