(Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of February 2022, fifteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

These 15 fatalities occurred in 13 fatal crashes.

  • Six of the fourteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, four were using seatbelts, and
    four had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
  • Eleven of the fatalities were in rural locations.
  • There were two fatalities on the interstate, nine on other highways, and four on local roads.
  • One of the fatalities was a pedestrian.
