GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The Hall County Board of Commissioners are still considering options for a possible courthouse addition.

At Tuesday’s Hall County Commissioners meeting, the board heard from different entities about the courthouse expansion.

Architecture firm Davis Design went through the objectives of the preliminary plan and showed some of the design changes.

Once again, judges voiced their concerns about courthouse safety and lack of space.

Judge Alfred E. Corey urged the board to think of the future.

“We recognize this is a challenging situation for everyone, but the needs are urgent and immediate for what we have," Corey said. "But I would encourage you to continue to be forward looking in regards to this process because no one wants us to have to come back to you in a couple of years and say 'we think we need additional courtroom space.'”

Several others voiced their opinions and asked the board to consider different viewpoints.

The board will continue to discuss the addition at its next meeting.
