Turkey collides with pickup truck, LSO reminds public to stay alert for wildlife

LANCASTER COUNTY - The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is reminding the public to stay alert for all kinds of wildlife after a unique crash last week.
According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, a Wild Turkey collided with the windshield of a pickup truck, causing severe damage to the trucks windshield. The accident occurred on on Friday, April 14, at the intersection of Hwy 77 and Yankee Hill Rd., just south of Lincoln.
"We often remind drivers to be on the lookout for deer, but turkey can be just as dangerous," the post said. "Please remember when you are driving, your eyes and attention need to be on the road."
Wild Turkey are in the peak of the breeding season, with male turkeys aggressively on the lookout for a mate. No injuries to the driver were reported.
