North Star graduate Josiah Allick returning to Lincoln to play for Huskers
LINCOLN, Neb. -- A Nebraska native is returning home to play his final college basketball season for the Huskers.
Lincoln North Star graduate Josiah Allick announced on Tuesday that he is transferring to Nebraska from New Mexico.
Allick played his first three collegiate seasons at Kansas City before transferring to New Mexico prior to last season. He was second in the Mountain West Conference in rebounding, hauling in 7.3 boards per game for the Lobos. Allick had an 18-rebound effort against Boise State in January. He also contributed 8.4 points per game last season.
His highest scoring season was his sophomore campaign at Kansas City, where he averaged 15 points per contest for the Roos. His career-high scoring mark game in a 2020 game against Greenville when Allick went off against Greenville for 29 points.
Allick graduated from North Star in 2019. The 6'8" forward averaged 15.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while shooting 65 percent from the floor in his senior season with the Navigators.
He will join three other transfers as newcomers on the Nebraska basketball roster next season. Ahron Ulis, Brice Williams and Rienk Mast all preceded Allick in joining the Huskers through the transfer portal this offseason.
