According to the experts the rising price of oil across the globe is to blame for increases here in the U.S.

And the jump in prices came quickly, take the Omaha Metro for example, where right now $3.39 a gallon appears to be the norm.

Just 16 days ago, prices in and around the state’s largest city were $3.00 a gallon, a 39-cent jump in just over two weeks.

Here’s the official numbers.

The average price of regular in the Metro is running at $3.40 a gallon.

That’s up 12 cents from $3.28 a gallon one week ago.

But still no where near last year’s $4.11 a gallon.

Going forward the experts are all but expecting prices to jump another five to 10 cents a gallon in the very near future.
