RAPID CITY, S.D. -- It took two playoff holes, but Eagle golf senior Jordan Grasis was victorious with a 160 (+18) at the 2024 Hardrocker Spring Invite, helping the CSC golf team earn a first-place team finish.
 
The Eagles took nine strokes off from Wednesday during round two, finishing with a 653 (+85) overall. The other two teams competing in the triangular were South Dakota School of Mines and Black Hills State. The Hardrockers finished two strokes behind CSC while the Yellowjackets shot a 727 (+159).
 
After carding an 80 (+9) and having a one stroke lead after round one, Grasis, a senior from Yuma, Arizona, found herself tied for first when she entered the clubhouse with the same score on Thursday.
 
A playoff against Riana Garland of South Dakota Mines was next for Grasis. After both shot par on the par 3, 150-yard first playoff hole, Garland found sand on her tee shot the second time around. Grasis safely found the green with her tee shot and was able to finish with a par to win the tournament.
 
Grasis finished four strokes ahead of her teammate, Kinsey Smith, who finished tied for fourth. After shooting an 85 (+14) on Wednesday, Smith, a senior from Windsor, Colorado, fired a 79 (+8) during round two.
 
A string of four other Eagles held the next four spots on the leaderboard. Aubree Heinsma and Brooke Kramer finished tied for sixth overall with a 167 (+25).
 
Heinsma, a sophomore from Windsor, improved by nine strokes on Thursday while firing a 79 (+8). Kramer, a senior from Aurora, Colorado, shot an 83 on Wednesday before having an 84 (+13) today.
 
Kenzey Kanno, a senior from Mitchell, Nebraska, finished the invite slotted in eighth place with a 171 (+29). After shooting an 83 on Wednesday, the Nebraska native had an 88 on Thursday.
 
Competing as an individual, Allison Acosta had the biggest of any golfer on the leaderboard during round two. The senior from Oro Valley, Arizona, jumped eight spots while improving by nine strokes to place ninth with a 173 (+31) overall.
 
The Eagles other individual was Payton Wise, a sophomore from Kimball, Nebraska. Wise finished placed 19th with 179.
 
Chadron State is in action next at the RMAC Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, April 21 – April 23.
