HASTINGS, Neb. – A vehicle barreled past a stop sign on Burlington Avenue in Hastings before crashing into a power pole on the other side of the street.

A vehicle crashed into a power pole Wednesday morning causing the Hastings 9-1-1 number to go offline and dozens of residences to lose power.  

The Hastings 9-1-1 number was offline for roughly two hours, but has since been fixed. 

Hastings Police says the accident happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of South Burlington Ave. and West 'A' St. 

A vehicle was traveling eastbound on West 'A' St. and approaching Burlington Avenue when it crashed. 

Police say they're still investigating what caused the vehicle to crash. 

Authorities say the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle, but was not seriously injured.

As of 11:50 a.m. Hastings Utilities say all power outages have been fixed.
