$23,000 in gold, 900,000 Thai Baht stolen from Grand Island home, police say
Police in central Nebraska are investigating a burglary where tens of thousands of gold and Thai currency were stolen.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Police in central Nebraska are investigating a burglary where tens of thousands of gold and Thai currency were stolen.
According to Grand Island Police, officers were called Wednesday night to Aster Dr. for a report of a burglary.
The homeowner told police he returned home to find that it had been ransacked. A burglar had reportedly broken into his safe and taken its contents.
The 62-year-old victim told police that about $23,000 in gold and 900,000 Thai Baht, worth an estimated $24,000 in U.S. dollars, had been taken.
The investigation is ongoing.
