SOURCE: Tri-City Storm parting ways with head coach
KEARNEY, Neb. -- Mark Abalan's tenure as the head coach of the Tri-City Storm has lasted 24 regular season games.
There will not be a 25th appearance for Abalan on the Storm bench, a source has confirmed with NCN and ESPN Tri-Cities.
The Storm are currently sitting fifth in the Western Conference with 25 points. Tri-City has gone 11-10-2-1 in those contests and has a goal differential of minus five. The 87 goals allowed is the most in the conference and second most in the United States Hockey League. The Chicago Steel have given up 102 tallies.
Tri-City returns home to play Sioux City on Friday at 7:05 p.m. CT and they welcome in Sioux Falls, Saturday at 6:05 p.m.
Abalan joined the team in Kearney after two seasons as the co-head coach for the Northstar Christian Academy’s 16U AAA team.
