ATKINSON - Fireworks in January! The Plainview Pirates held on to a tight victory against the West Holt Huskies 55-48 on Tuesday night in Atkinson.

The Pirates (9-4) and the Huskies (10-2) didn't start slow in terms of scoring as both sides found ways to attack the basket.

Early on for West Holt, Lincoln Konrad was feasting on the interior glass, turning offensive rebounds into buckets. Drake Nemetz was the X-factor on the three point line, knocking down three triples in the first half.

Karter Lingenfelter was the hot hand for Plainview, hitting three's and mid range jumpers with ease. Wyatt Schroth was a key asset in the game, doing the dirty work finding tough ways to score.

West Holt had the 35-33 at the end of the first half and after a few lead changes, it was Plainview in front by a single point early in the fourth quarter.

Karter Lingenfelter may have hit the biggest shot of the game, a straightaway three pointer, to give the Pirates a four-point advantage.

In the winding minutes, down by three, Ty Diedrichsen made the defensive play of the game with a block on Lincoln Konrad that would seal the deal.

Karter Lingenfelter scored 18 points in the Pirate win, followed by Wyatt Schroth with 14 and Kohen Lingenfelter with 9.

West Holt's Lincoln Konrad scored 16 points and added 14 rebounds.

Plainview's win was big for power point reasons, jumping to 10-4. West Holt will look to rally after the tough loss as they fall to 10-3.
