NORFOLK - The Pierce Girls and Norfolk Catholic Boys continued their winning ways by starting hot and holding serve throughout in a 42-29 Lady Jays win and 81-49 Knights Boys victory Tuesday night.

Pierce jumped out to a 21-10 halftime lead, and never let the Catholic girls get closer as the Lady Jays won going away. The Scholting sisters paced Pierce with 11 for Skylar and 10 for Haley. Hadley Wragge contributed 8 and Abbie Cone chipped in 6, while Nora Herian came off the bench with a solid game, scoring 4 and dominating the paint.

Sidonia Wattier and reserve Grace Kosch led the way for the Knights with 7 and 6 points, respectively.

The Norfolk Catholic boys avenged their female counterparts with another monster 1st quarter, going up by 12 at the end of 1. It was raining 3's as the Knights poured in a dozen treys, mostly from Gavin Schutt and Max Hammond (16 pts each) and Hayden Kelley (14).

Pierce countered with a great game from Keaton Frazier (16) and terrific bench play from Kendall Shada (8), but it wasn't enough to overcome the Knights' hot start.

Pierce (11-4 girls, 4-9 boys) heads to Summerland Thursday, while Norfolk Catholic (4-11 girls, 10-5 boys) are home again against Lutheran High Northeast.
