NEBRASKA CITY, NE - The Pioneers & Bulldogs split a hoops doubleheader on Friday. The Nebraska City ladies grabbed a 47-28 win before the Auburn boys triumphed 63-18.

In the girls' contest, Nebraska City got 14 points from Lexi Brown & a dozen from Kensie Briley. Auburn's Bree Wehenkel hit a trio of treys for a team-best nine points. The NC squad is now 7-9 on the season, while Auburn moved to 2-14 after a win over Wilber-Clatonia Saturday.

For the guys, it was Nixon Ligouri leading Auburn with 18 points, while Nolan Gardner & Cam Leslie chipped in with nine each. Sam Rovetto's seven points were tops for NC. Neb. City is now 2-14 on the season, and Auburn sits at 13-2 after grabbing a Saturday victory over Wilber-Clatonia.

Next up for Auburn is a trip to Falls City on Tuesday, while Nebraska City will compete in the Trailblazer Conference Tournament that begins Monday.
