Firefighters battling fire north of Rushville
Rushville and Gordon firefighters are battling a grass and timber fire around 12 miles north of Rushville.

Thursday Morning Update: Almost all fire crews have been released from the scene, and the fire is mostly contained.
RUSHVILLE, Neb. - Rushville, Gordon and Hay Springs firefighters are battling a grass and timber fire around 12 miles north of Rushville. Gordon Fire Chief Rich Haller estimates that the fire was around 70 acres.
“Thankfully for once the wind isn’t blowing so hard,” said Haller.
The fire was spotted around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Haller said that no buildings are in danger, but the terrain is making fighting the fire more difficult.
