Cheyenne County Communications praised for aiding Scotts Bluff County during 911 outage
SIDNEY — The Cheyenne County Communications Center is being recognized for its quick response and professionalism after stepping in to handle 911 operations for Scotts Bluff County during a major phone outage over the weekend.
“Cheyenne County stepped up without hesitation,” officials from the Scotts Bluff County Communications Center shared in a public statement. “Your professionalism, teamwork, and dedication ensured that emergency services continued without interruption for our communities."
On Saturday evening, a significant disruption knocked out phone lines at the Scotts Bluff County Communications Center, forcing all emergency 911 calls to be rerouted. For six hours, Cheyenne County’s dispatchers in Sidney not only managed their own call load, but also took on the full emergency communications responsibility for Scotts Bluff County.
“We are beyond grateful for your help and proud to work alongside such amazing partners,” the statement added.
