York couple arrested after domestic dispute, crash with kids

YORK, Neb. (KOLN) - The York County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests after a woman allegedly rammed into a car with children in both vehicles on Friday.

York Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance near east 16th Street and north Iowa Avenue around 5:12 p.m. A man and woman were allegedly involved in a physical altercation while a child was in their presence. The two left the area before police arrived.

A short time later, deputies were called to a disturbance involving the same man and woman near Road Q and Road 10 in rural York County. It was reported that the man had left the home in a vehicle with an infant and was being followed by the woman who was in a vehicle with two other children.

The sheriff’s office said an investigation into the series of events revealed that a verbal argument between the man and woman escalated into a physical altercation where, at one point, the pair was fighting over the infant who was seated in a baby carrier.

The altercation continued as the two entered different vehicles with children inside and began to drive recklessly throughout southeastern York County. During this time, the sheriff’s office said the woman rammed into the back of the man’s vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles reportedly left the scene of the crash.

Deputies eventually stopped both vehicles near the intersection of Road 5 and Road U.

No injuries were reported during the incident, and the three children were removed from the two’s custody and placed in the Department of Health and Human Services care.

The woman, Madison White, 25, of York, was arrested and lodged at York County Corrections on eight charges including attempted second-degree assault, third-degree domestic assault, child abuse and willful reckless driving.

The man, Francis Neville IV, 29, of York, was arrested and lodged in jail on suspicion of third-degree domestic assault, child abuse and willful reckless driving.

“This case could have had a much different outcome if it wasn’t for the quick response of law enforcement and the relaying of information to them by dispatchers with York County 911,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “This incident also serves as a grim reminder of the devastating effects that domestic violence can have on children who are often caught in the middle.”
