Sterling police seize meth, fentanyl during traffic stop
STERLING, Colo. - Sterling police arrested a suspect on multiple felony drug charges after officers seized methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop late Monday, authorities said.
According to the Sterling Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop around 8:30 p.m. in the 300 block of North Sixth Avenue. A Logan County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit responded to the scene and alerted officers to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
Police said a search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 63 grams, or about 2.2 ounces, of methamphetamine, along with 41 fentanyl pills commonly referred to as “blues,” and drug paraphernalia.
The suspect, whose name was not released, was taken into custody and booked into jail on multiple felony drug charges.
Police said the seizure marks the third ounce-level methamphetamine bust made by Sterling officers within the past month.
