Alliance Police Department welcomes new officer

ALLIANCE -- The Alliance Police Department announces its newest officer, Chris Laake, to the department’s team of dedicated professionals.
“We are proud to welcome Chris to the Alliance Police Department family,” said Chief David Leavitt. “His commitment to public service, along with the training he has completed, will be a tremendous asset to our department and to the citizens we serve.”
On Thursday, Officer Laake graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center after completing a rigorous 16-week academy program. His training covered a wide range of critical law enforcement skills, including constitutional law, defensive tactics, crisis intervention, firearms proficiency, and community-centered policing.
Officer Laake will begin the next phase of his onboarding process; 16 weeks of field training with the Alliance Police Department. He will work with experienced field training officers, applying his academy knowledge to real-world policing and demonstrating the proficiency required to serve independently. Upon successful completion, Officer Laake will be released as a solo patrol officer.
The Alliance Police Department congratulates Officer Laake on his accomplishments and looks forward to the positive impact he will have on the community.
