OSHKOSH - Garden County earned a home sweep Tuesday night as both the girls and boys teams secured wins over Bayard Friday night in Oshkosh.

The Lady Eagles picked up their second win of the season with a dominant 47-18 victory over the Lady Tigers behind sophomore Kenley Dehning 10 points, including a three-pointer.

Seniors Karma Peterson, Ridglyn Stanczyk, and Bre Yats each added 9 points in the balanced offensive effort.

Garden County knocked down two three-pointers as a team and shot 13-of-20 from the free-throw line.

Bayard was led by sophomore Emilee Houchin, who had a game-high 11 points and hit two shots from beyond the arc.

The Lady Tigers shot 50% from the free-throw line, collected 16 rebounds, and recorded 8 steals in the loss.

In the boys contest, senior Lane Brenneman exploded for 31 points—going 6-of-10 from the free-throw line—to help lift the Eagles to a 70-58 win over Bayard.

Senior Wilsie Lobner added 14 points and two threes, while junior Javis Underwood and sophomore Blake Dean each chipped in 11.

The Eagles hit two three-pointers as a team and converted 14-of-22 free-throw attempts.

Bayard was led by senior Noah Manka, who scored 22 points and drained five three-pointers.

Senior Anderson Gaarder followed with 17 points, and junior Jacob Carrizales added 10. The Tigers finished the night hitting 6 threes and went 3-for-8 from the free-throw line.

With the results, the Garden County girls improve to 2-4, while the boys move to 5-1. Both teams will next compete in the Paxton Holiday Tournament on December 22 and 23. Bayard’s girls and boys both fall to 3-4 and will return to action January 2 at Hay Springs.
