Inmate from Polk County reported dead in Lincoln
An inmate serving a 45-year sentence at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center died on Sunday.

LINCOLN, Neb. – 35-year-old inmate Kristopher Prigge, died on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022, at a hospital in Lincoln. He was incarcerated at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center (DEC) in Lincoln.
Prigge’s started his sentence on April 3rd of 2019, and he was serving a 40 to 45-year sentence. He was charged out of Polk County with first-degree sexual assault on a child and incest.
While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Prigge was currently being treated for a medical condition.
As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
