Lincoln firefighters battle blaze at Carroll Supply

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire at a Lincoln business on Wednesday night.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to the scene at 3600 W. O Street for a fire at Carroll Supply around 9:30 p.m. The initial call came in after a passerby reported smoke in the warehouse.
The fire was upgraded to a two-alarm fire when crews arrived.
Fire crews initially went inside, eventually changing operations to a defensive attack due to high heat and instability of the large structure.
LFR officials said the building was difficult to access due to fencing and excess surplus material on the exterior of the building.
There were no fire alarms sounding or a sprinkler system in place, however motion sensors had eventually activated.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue rotated crews through the night and will continue to have some presence throughout the day to monitor for re-ignition. No injuries were reported.
