Small crowd at Voter ID hearing
Effort was bankrolled by Gov. Pete Ricketts' mom.

Fewer than 50 people were on hand for today's second statewide public hearing on voter ID, an effort that was bankrolled to the tune of more than $1.5 million by Gov. Pete Ricketts' mom.
The money allowed those pushing ID's to hire petition gatherers who wound up with more than enough signatures to put the issue to the voters on Election Day.
Today's 1:30 meeting found both sides arguing the same story they've been making for months.

Election officials across the state have long maintained that there is no vote fraud in Nebraska.
Backers of voter ID say they want to stop any fraud before it starts.
