Lincoln fire causes $150K in damages, 4 dogs dead

LINCOLN, Neb. -- A fire in Lincoln killed four dogs and caused $150,000 in damages.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue said they were dispatched to the 400 block of S 25th St. at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday for a reported fire in a bedroom.
Officials said there was heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the home. The residents were reportedly still inside the home.
According to authorities, firefighters had a difficult time evacuating the residents due to the excessive amount of personal items inside. They were reportedly able to rescue the two people inside and they were taken to a nearby hospital.
LFR said multiple animals self-evacuated the home but four dogs were found dead after the fire was put out.
Officials said $150,000 worth of damages was done to the home. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
