It was just a few weeks ago we told you that the price of gas in Omaha was running below $3 a gallon at some stations.

Well, that’s no longer the case. Plenty of stations are now running at $3.50 a gallon.

The overall average in Omaha is $3.48, up nearly 20 cents in the last week alone. Up nearly 30 cents a gallon from a month ago. The lone bright spot: A year ago it was $3.73 a gallon.

The latest jumps, just the beginning according to some.

Sen. Pete Ricketts says by summer the national average is likely to be nearly $4 a gallon.
