Police: Grand Island man jumps out of moving vehicle driven by man on drugs

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A man is in the hospital after police say he jumped out of a moving vehicle that was driven by someone on drugs.
Grand Island Police were called on Tuesday to Fonner Park Road and Stuhr Road because there was a man on the side of the road with blood on his face.
He was later identified as a passenger in a vehicle driven by Joshua Moran.
According to police, the 34-year-old victim jumped out of the moving vehicle voluntarily.
Police say that Moran appeared to be under the influence. He provided a breath sample and admitted to using cannabis and THC products before driving.
The victim was transported to a hospital where it was determined he had a serious head injury. He was later flown by medical helicopter to an Omaha hospital.
Moran was charged with DUI-drugs causing serious bodily injury. The incident is still being investigated.
