OMAHA, Neb. -- A key member of the Creighton men's basketball team will be returning to Omaha for a final season.

In a nine-word tweet on Monday, Ryan Kalkbrenner announced his plans to return to the Bluejays' program.

"I am coming back to Creighton for another year," Kalkbrenner's tweet read.

Creighton head coach Greg McDermott responded with a two-word tweet of his own.

Kalkbrenner had put his name in as an early entry candidate for the NBA Draft, meaning he had until the end of May to decide whether he would stay in the draft or return to Creighton.

Kalkbrenner was an All-Big East performer while helping the Bluejays reach the Elite 8 this past season. He blocked a shot in 25 straight games and scored in double figures in his final 21 games during the campaign.

The Missouri native was recognized as one of five finalists for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, which is given annually to the nation's top collegiate center.

For his career, Kalkbrenner has averaged 11.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

Nebraska is still waiting to hear on an early draft entry of their own, with the Huskers awaiting a decision from guard Keisei Tominaga.

Tominaga finished second in scoring for coach Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers last season.
