River Country baseball players well represented on all-conference teams

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The Trailblazer Conference released its all-conference selections for the 2023 baseball season and River Country was well represented.
Drew Iverson of Plattsmouth was selected to the first team and made honorary captain after batting .493 with 32 RBIs. The senior Wichita State pledge also compiled a 5-2 record on the mound and a 1.52 ERA to lead the Blue Devils to their first state tournament appearance.
Teammate Gabe Villamonte joined Iverson on the first team as well after posting a team-high six wins on the mound coupled with a team-best 1.39 ERA.
Sloan Pelican of Nebraska City also received first team honors with a team-high .458 batting average. Pelican got off to a slow start to the season, but really turned it on late to drive in 24 runs while slugging nine doubles and three home runs.
