NORFOLK, Neb. -- "A lot of gas," said Leon Food Truck owner Enrique Leon.

Across the nation, inflation is hitting the pockets of everyday citizens including businesses.

Although, food trucks are feeling the hit with gas.

"It adds up," Leon said.

La Oveja Negra in Norfolk has to refill on its propane tanks every two weeks, costing hundreds of dollars and overall affecting their take-home profits.

"Sometimes it's a worry because it's very expensive for all, but it's very necessary for use," said La Oveja Negra owner Rosa Lbadiast.

Another food truck in the area has seen slight change in its propane numbers but even more in gasoline as it's always on the move.

At beloved Leon right in Norfolk, they said that these gas prices have been affecting them as well, nearly doubling their expense when it comes to fueling their trucks, affecting their business, trickling down to affecting their prices, ultimately affecting their customers.

"As much as I don't want to sometimes, I do have to charge a little bit more for my things, and yeah some people get upset about price changes but that's the only way we can get there," Leon said.

Leon's truck takes 30 gallons to fuel up its tank, and costs $600 to $1,000 when traveling to events.

"We need fuel to get places," Leon said.

Luckily their truck runs on E15, which is cheaper and more accessible to get at more gas stations, thanks to LB562 being signed into law back in June.

"Sometimes it's a whole dollar difference that you're talking about on a tank, I mean a gallon. That's a lot of money once it adds up after each trip," Leon said.

Despite these challenges, Leon said that they remain on the road as always, even more now.

"We're doing good like I said we're on an uprise, we're climbing right now," Leon said. "It takes time, we've been doing this for, like I said, 15 years."
