The GOP battle over the next Speaker of the House finds Omaha area Republican Congressman Don Bacon not ready to commit his vote to Jim Jordan.

Without a Speaker the House can't work.

And while Jordan is the front-runner, Bacon is playing wait and see.

Rep. Don Bacon, (NE-2, R) KFAB Radio: “I’m inclined to push for an alternative to Jim Jordan. I’ve got some concerns about him but if he would have won this fair and square I’d be voting for him because that’s the rules. He voted against the continuing resolution which means he was for the government shutdown two weeks ago. I don’t think a shutdown would have been good.”

Bacon continues to support former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and says Jordan and others in the GOP conference broke the party's own rules when they threw McCarthy out.
