CENTRAL CITY, Neb. -- Two men from Colorado are now in jail after authorities say officers found large amounts of drugs in their vehicles.

According to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy conducted a traffic stop along Highway 30 in Central City in the early morning hours of Thanksgiving.

During the stop, the deputy said they found out that the vehicle, driven by 33-year-old Gustavo Loya of Colorado, was involved in illegal drug trafficking. Loya had an active arrest warrant for drug offenses.

At the time of the traffic stop, a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Patrick Snyder of Colorado showed up near the scene.

The deputy said they found that both men were traveling together. During the search of both vehicles, officials seized heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine, more than 430 suspected fentanyl pills and a loaded gun.
