Two arrested in Kearney in relation to harboring child abuse fugitive

KEARNEY, Neb. — Two more people are in police custody in connection to a Central Nebraska manhunt.
The Kearney Police Department says officers worked with Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office investigators and arrested 54-year-old Clint Ellingson and 57-year-old Eric Nesiba. A news release says the arrests were related to harboring 24-year-old Jacob Ellingson, a Kearney man accused of child abuse who evaded arrest for a week in September.
In court documents, authorities accuse the older Ellingson and Nesiba of committing their crimes from September 10-15. Further details are sealed.
The younger Ellingson is charged with intentional child abuse and child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury. The charges relate to injuries that sent a one-year-old girl to a hospital on Friday, Sept. 8. A news release says the girl was having trouble breathing and was flown by medical helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Omaha.
