AURORA, Neb. -- One person was pronounced dead and two others were injured in a homicide in Aurora.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the Aurora Police Department got a report of a stabbing in the 100 block of Fairview Dr. at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers said they found a woman with serious injuries in the driveway of a neighboring house. A person with a knife was reportedly found in the home that the 911 call was made for.

According to authorities, the person with the knife cooperated with them and was taken into custody.

While searching the home, police reported finding two more victims inside. All three of the victims were taken to a hospital.

Officials said one of the victims was 48-year-old Ross Nickolaus and was he pronounced dead at the hospital. The third victim was reportedly a juvenile and had minor injuries. All three were reported to have stab wounds.

NSP said the suspect was 29-year-old Caleb Arnett and he was taken to the hospital for his minor injures. After his release from the hospital, Arnett was lodged in the Hamilton County Jail for first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree assault.

The investigation is ongoing.
