SIDNEY -- The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Department was contacted December 1 to assist the Western Nebraska Intelligence and Narcotics Group with a man taking into custody a man near Sidney.

The call came in at about 2:15 p.m. Friday, December 1.

Th man, Alex G. Estrada, was contacted by authorities near Cheyenne County Road 109 and U.S. Highway 30. Estrada turned his vehicle eastbound on a minimally maintained road owned by the railroad east of County Road 109. He turned his vehicle north from the service road onto a field and into a pasture where he crashed the vehicle. 

Estrada was taken to Sidney Regional Medical Center and released. 

He is being held in Scotts Bluff County detention facility on Cheyenne County charges of Driving Under Suspension, Willful Reckless Driving and Flight to Avoid Arrest.
