SIDNEY – The Sidney basketball teams kept their records perfect with a pair of wins Friday at the Cabela’s Athletic Facility. The Lady Raiders had 12 players score in a 47-26 win over Chase County, while senior Isak Doty shot the Red Raiders to a 55-40 win over the Longhorns.

The Lady Raiders used full-court pressure defense to hold Chase County to just five first quarter free throws to open up a 16-5 double-digit lead after one period. Sidney had 10 players in the scoring column by halftime and never looked back.

Juniors Jordan DeNovellis, Ryan Dillehay, and Kayla Westby all finished with a team-high seven points. Senior Karsyn Leeling chipped in five points and senior Chloe Ahrens added four points in the win.

The Red Raider game almost became a game of attrition. Even though Sidney maintained a double-digit lead for the majority of the game, it was the 25 fouls the Raiders committed that threatened to diminish their numbers. Landon Riddle and Grant Smircich fouled out of the game and Keian Kaiser, who sat for some time with three fouls in the first half, played most of the second half with four fouls.

Isak Doty hit three shots from beyond the arc and scored 11 points in the second quarter to propel Sidney to a 33-14 halftime lead. Doty finished the game with six three-pointers and 23 points to lead all scorers. Junior Reid Fiscus had a solid all-around game with nine points while sophomore Alek Doty knocked down a pair of long range shot to finish with eight points.
