Flood kickoffs campaign, emphasizes border security and affordable housing
LINCOLN, Neb. -- As the May primaries near, current District 1 Rep. Mike Flood kicked off his campaign in Lincoln with a focus on both the national and local scale.
Flood, who was re-elected for the First Congressional District in 2022, now looks to maintain control of the position in 2024.
During the morning, Flood spoke with Nebraska residents and says his campaign is focusing on two things: border security and affordable housing.
“When I listen to the problems they have in states that don’t have the resources and the people we do, I’m like, ‘We are so fortunate to live where we do’. Sometimes we don’t say that enough and we have to protect our way of life.”
After previously launching an initiative called ‘Nebraska Backs the Blue’, Flood also highlighted the importance of police in Nebraska.
Former Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman announced his support of Flood and talked about what he has done for the first district.
“He cares about all of us. He cares about us,” Heineman said. “He listens to our concerns and he delivers results for the first district.”
Mike Flood is the founder and an owner of Flood Communications and News Channel Nebraska.
