Pepper balls, that’s right pepper balls were on display in downtown Omaha recently as police worked to break-up a crowd of approximately 150 juveniles who were here at the new Riverfront Park without any adult supervision, the new $400 million Riverfront Park.
Police tell us that last weekend officers were called to the park to break up a large and disorderly crowd.
We’re told that police initially got everything under control, but then a large fight broke out, and that found police going to the pepper balls to break things up, one arrest was made, no injuries were reported.
Going forward, parents are being urged not to leave their kids here, unsupervised.
The park is open from five in the morning to 11 at night.
So far, there is no indication of a possible curfew but that option is apparently still on the table.
