Rep. Mike Johnson (R), House Speaker:  “It also includes tough measures…”

House Speaker Mike Johnson recently talking up new aid to Ukraine.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R), House Speaker:  “I've said it very simply, I'll say it once again, it's an old military adage, but we would rather send bullets uh to the conflict overseas than our own boys, our troops.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia (R): “I do not support Mike Johnson he's already a lame duck. He can't raise money, everyone knows it. We know we can't win the majority next year without raising money. He can't be speaker he doesn't have the vote.”

Joe Jordan, NCN: “Congressman is Speaker of the House Johnson safe? Marjorie Taylor Green says he's not.”

Rep. Bacon: “I don't think he's safe right now. He's doing a great job I support him 100 percent. He's a good man.”

Jordan: “If he's forced out what would that say for the Republican Party nationally?”

Rep. Bacon: “Well it's just the reality. When you have a two-seat majority, and you have four or five people that want the attention. It’s just a fact of life. If we had a bigger majority, we wouldn't have this problem.”

It’s not clear if or when a vote on Johnson will happen.

Speaker Johnson:  “We’ve done our work here and I think history will judge it well.”

The push to remove Johnson appears to have run into a roadblock.

In a radio interview former President Donald Trump defended Johnson’s negotiations of the foreign aid package.
