OVERLAND PARK, KS - On Monday, January 20, the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its players of the week.  Peru State College's Amir Poat was named Heart Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, presented by WinWon. Poat is the third Bobcat Men's Basketball player in a row to win a Heart Player of the Week Award.
 
Amir tallied 28 rebounds, averaging 9.3 rebounds per game, in the Bobcats' three conference matchups last week. Poat also had seven blocks and two steals, with four blocks against Missouri Valley on Saturday.
 
The men's basketball team is set to take on the MidAmerica Nazarene Pioneers on Wednesday, January 22, at 7:30pm. Peru State is 12-3 in conference play, trailing only Baker, who sits at a perfect 14-0 in the HAAC this season.
