WINNEBAGO, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol says they arrested a Winnebago man after he assaulted a trooper after being pulled over.

NSP said troopers, with assistance from the Dakota County Sheriff's Office, arrest 31-year-old Troy Reynolds, after he headbutted a trooper in the face.

Around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, a trooper pulled over a Chevrolet Traverse for a defective light on Highway 77, just south of South Sioux City.

NSP said that during the stop, the trooper became suspicious that Reynolds was under the influence. The trooper then did a DUI investigation and found that Reynolds was impaired.

While the trooper was trying to arrest Reynolds, he headbutted the trooper in the face.

Dakota County deputies helped arrest Reynolds.

Reynolds was arrested for the assault on an officer, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, driving with a revoked license, and other charges.

NSP said the trooper suffered minor injuries and was treated after taking Reynolds to jail.
