SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — A Lyman man was arrested Friday night at Walmart in Scottsbluff after attempting to flee officers while in possession of a concealed firearm, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.

Police were notified at 9:47 p.m. that 27-year-old Travis Buckley was at the store and had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The warrants included charges for driving under suspension (Class III misdemeanor) and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (Class II felony).

When contacted by officers, Buckley refused to provide his name and attempted to escape but was taken into custody after a struggle, police said. A concealed 9mm handgun was recovered from his possession during a search.

Buckley now faces additional charges, including obstruction of a police officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and resisting arrest.
