NORFOLK, Neb. — A Norfolk woman will spend decades in federal prison for her role in a fentanyl bust in 2023.

A U.S. district court judge sentenced 24-year-old Alexzandra Blanco of Norfolk to 20 years behind bars in a hearing on Wednesday. In February, a jury convicted Blanco of multiple charges related to the distribution and possession of fentanyl.

According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Blanco was involved in providing fentanyl to a person who overdosed at a St. Patrick’s Day party in 2023. The victim was revived by Narcan. The release says law enforcement later bought fentanyl pills from Blanco’s boyfriend, Tremaine Monroe, and eventually raided their residence. Officers seized 221 fentanyl pills, drug paraphernalia, more than five pounds of meth and $4,200.

Monroe previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribution and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl. A judge sentenced him in October to 17.5 years in prison.
