SIDNEY -- Storms blew through the Nebraska Panhandle Sunday night with high winds, reports of funnel clouds and hail.

Reports of storm watches started at about 5 p.m. Sunday, quickly escalating to Thunderstorm warnings. Early reports were of a line of storms from McGrew to Potter traveling east. The storm then moved east across Cheyenne County.

The possibility of storms is expected to continue through the week. Storms will have the potential to produce strong winds and isolated large hail. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

The National Weather Service expects showers and thunderstorms to increase for Monday and Tuesday with continued potential for isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall.
