SCOTTSBLUFF -- At about 3:20 p.m. Thursday, the Scottsbluff Police Department responded to a report of an injury accident near W. Overland Drive and Avenue E.

Karen Rogers, 74, of Scottsbluff, was traveling westbound on W. Overland Drive when her vehicle left the roadway to the north and struck a wooden power pole breaking it off just above the ground.

Medical issues are suspected to have contributed to the crash.

A portion of West Overland Drive was temporarily closed for about one hour while emergency personnel secured the scene. No reported power issues were reported as all lines stayed intact.

The driver reported minor injuries and chose to seek medical treatment on their own.

The Scottsbluff Police Department was assisted in the handling of the scene by the Scottsbluff Fire Department, Nebraska Public Power District, and Regional West EMS.
