CLEARWATER, Neb. — Clearwater's legendary rodeo—a half-century tradition of thrills and tunes—is back, bigger and better than ever! Expect record-breaking crowds, surprising twists, and three nights of exhilarating fun as 240 contestants vie for the top spot at the Clearwater Big Rodeo, sponsored by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, on June 27-29, 2025.

Recognized as the Mid-States Rodeo Association's Large Purse Rodeo of the Year for four of the last five years, this annual event promises a high-octane experience.

The rodeo kicks off Friday, June 27, at 7 p.m. with Mutton Bustin' and the crowning of the Clearwater Rodeo Queen. After the dust settles, Borderline will take the stage on Main Street. Saturday's events begin at 6 p.m. with Mutton Bustin' followed by the rodeo, with entertainment starting at 8 p.m. featuring Borderline, Bayker Blankenship at 9 p.m., and headliner Gavin Adcock at 10 p.m.

As Clearwater's population of 400 transforms into a booming metropolis with campers and tourists from across state lines, the staff is ensuring everyone is accommodated. "We've got two big screens," said Clearwater Chamber of Commerce Vice President Jeremy Sanne. "We built two new concession stands, and then we decided to go and put new bleachers in, and now we can seat about 3,500 people."

Enhancements include the addition of three skyboxes, bringing the total to four, which can house up to 24 people. Sanne noted their popularity, stating, "They're right over the action and they're pretty much right in there with everybody. When you get a skybox, and if your group rents one, you get into the rodeo free, you get free drinks, and free food all night."

Clearwater Rodeo Chairman Jeremy Kester emphasized the importance of sponsors and helpers, saying, "This brings so many people to Clearwater. It used to be a little different when we first started. You had a few beers and a barbecue. Now it's a big show that has turned into quite the fun project, but with good help, it goes well every year, so thank you to all who helped make this possible."

Competition begins Friday, June 27, and continues through Sunday, June 29, at the Gene Snodgrass Arena, located along West US Highway 275 in Clearwater.

Identification will be required to purchase drink tickets, and a clear-bag policy will be in effect on Main Street Friday and Saturday evenings. No purses, coolers, or backpacks will be allowed.

Adult rodeo tickets will be available for $10 at the gate. Entry fee for youths, ages six to 12, will be $5 at the gate. Ages five and under will be admitted free.
