NORFOLK, Neb. - A Norfolk woman is in the hospital from getting thrown off her own horse.

A 63-year-old woman was thrown off her horse, hitting her head on a metal gate, authorities say.

Contact was lost shortly after the woman was able to contact 911 using her watch.

Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, the Stanton County Sheriffs office received notice of the woman’s injuries.

Sheriff Mike Unger said in a news release, he was able to locate the women using a drone and Norfolk Fire and Rescue treated the woman.

The woman was transported to the hospital for treatment of possible head and internal injuries.
