SIDNEY, Neb. – Two people were arrested Wednesday morning following the execution of a search warrant related to illegal drug activity at a home near 16th Avenue and Elm Street, according to the Sidney Police Chief Sam Lovato.

The warrant was served as part of an ongoing investigation. Lovato confirmed the operation was conducted safely, with no injuries reported. An ambulance from Sidney Regional Medical Center was on standby at the scene as a precaution.

An adult female and an adult male were taken into custody and transported to the Cheyenne County Jail. Their names were not immediately available. Both face felony drug charges and were also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

In a statement, Lovato reiterated the department's commitment to aggressively pursuing illegal drug activity to help ensure the safety of the community.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
