Police identify suspect killed in Friday Fremont shooting

Fremont Police confirmed that a suspect has died in a shooting in Fremont Friday.

FREMONT, Neb. - Fremont Police confirmed that a suspect has died in a shooting in Fremont Friday.

Authorities said the suspect shot at officers. Officers then fired back, according to police reports, killing the man.

The man has been identified as 33-year-old Aaron Schneider. Police say he succumbed to his injuries after being taken to Fremont Methodist Health hospital.

The incident took place along South Clarmar Avenue in Fremont around 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Multiple shots rang out this afternoon in the neighborhood along South Clarmar Avenue.

Nebraska State Patrol is heading up the investigation and officials say no officers were hurt during the incident.
